Safeguarding Statement
Last updated: August 2026
At This Place Speaks CIC, the safety and wellbeing of everyone we work with is fundamental to everything we do.
Many of our projects involve children, young people and adults who may be vulnerable. We are committed to creating welcoming, respectful and safe environments where everyone can participate with confidence.
Safeguarding is considered throughout the planning, delivery and evaluation of every project.
Our Commitment
We are committed to:
- promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults
- creating safe, inclusive and supportive environments
- treating every participant with dignity, respect and kindness
- responding appropriately to any safeguarding concerns
- working in partnership with organisations, schools and community groups to ensure appropriate safeguarding procedures are followed
Project Delivery
Every project is planned with safeguarding in mind.
This may include:
- appropriate DBS checks where required
- risk assessments
- suitable supervision ratios
- consent procedures
- clear communication with partner organisations
- adherence to safeguarding policies within schools, local authorities and partner organisations
Safeguarding arrangements are always proportionate to the nature of the project and the needs of participants.
Working in Partnership
Where projects are delivered in partnership with schools, community organisations or other agencies, This Place Speaks will work alongside existing safeguarding procedures and ensure roles and responsibilities are clearly understood before activities begin.
